2024 Year in review
2024 was another amazing year here at You’re With Us!
We were busy with several events - including our second annual Pickleball Outing at PKL in South Boston and the 25th anniversary of the Flutie 5K for Autism! Thank you to all who joined us at these amazing events. We are thrilled to have raised over $10,000 at these events to support social inclusion programming!
We are proud to be helping more than 150 individuals across Massachusetts, with almost 600 mentors signed up to be paired with our participants. These relationships are creating a sense of belonging and making strides toward our goal of inclusion for all!
We continued our mid-day program in partnership with Brookline Public Schools. Several Northeastern students met with Brookline High School students to foster a safe and inclusive environment. They explored Boston together, going on walks through the Emerald Necklace, visiting the Harvard Art Museum, and going to the Boston Public Market. This mid-day group will continue in the new year, reinforcing already formed bonds between college students and high school students with intellectual disabilities as they prepare for the next steps in their lives.
In December, we started holding our first music group. In a safe, welcoming environment, participants sing upbeat songs with positive messages, supported by the ethos that how the music makes you feel is more important than the way that you sound. The group will continue to meet weekly, fostering creative expression and connection among adults with intellectual disabilities.
*|FIRST_NAME|*, with support from people like you, You’re With Us! will continue to create a world where everyone feels a sense of belonging!
